The Grow Back Project was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, when winds tore through our communities and stripped the landscape of the trees that had stood for generations. What once provided shade, beauty, and identity was suddenly gone, leaving open skies where canopies once thrived. In response, Grow Back emerged as a promise. A promise to replant, to restore, and to rebuild what was lost. Through coordinated reforestation efforts and long-term stewardship, the program seeks not only to replace trees, but to reclaim a sense of place, resilience, and hope for the future.
